Good Points: Tax Exempt
Bad Points: bonus not guarenteed
The Forester's child exempt savings plan was the ideal future savings plan that we thought suitable to provide long term savings with good to average returns for our Grandaughter. We took out a 21 year term plan and pay in £25.00 a month-this sum forcasts that at the end of the terit is possible to achieve £8,000 on 4%-£10,000 on 6% and £12,700 on 8 %. These returns were what we were looking for mid- to long term, and because of this and the tax exemption aspect and the fact that only a friendly society like Forester's can provide this status we signed up for it and think we have made the correct choice for our Grandaughters future.

Good Points: very good and helpful...Easy to set up Ethical Investments Online Account Easy Direct Debit setup Investments moved into low risk after child is 13yrs
Bad Points: no bad points
The account provides lots of updates, and can be viewed online - the management fee for running the account is 1.5% and the investments are automatically moved to lower risks after the child turns 13. I found them very easy to work with. We set up a direct debit for ourselves, and slips were provided for other family members to set up direct debits for themselves if they wanted to (which saved lots of hassle for us!). All in all - I am very pleased with their service and their trust fund, and if we have any more kids - we'll be using them again. After much research and deliberation, we decided to open an Ethical Trust Fund with Family Investments. The website is easy to navigate, and the account REALLY easy to set up - took all of three minutes. You do have to post the CTF voucher directly to them, but they provide the address to do it directly if it is about to run out to save time. Good Points: The literature is very clear and easy to understand. Filling in the forms is straight forward and additional help is easily accessible. Clear communication of the risks and overall strong presentation.
Bad Points: No significant bad points.
Have two young ones and can see the sense of starting early and so investigated Forrester's. The literature and web site are very easy to navigate and clear. I liked the on-line calculator and the explanation of the historical bonus rates. The Jargon Buster page will be very helpful to any individual who lacks a certain amount of financial knowledge. All these factors were significant in influencing me to select the Forester's Tax Exempt Savings Plan. Applying on-line is straightforward, setting up the monthly contribution is no challenge and the regular communication from Foresters has been satisfying. Based on this experience, will be looking into other products by this company.
